We have just closed the chapter on a historic milestone—the 100th anniversary of Black History Month. But let’s be clear: excellence of this magnitude cannot be contained within twenty-eight or twenty-nine days. Black history is lived, breathed, and celebrated all day, every day. It is the foundation upon which we stand as we transition into Women’s History Month.
This month, we honor the women who have made a way out of "no way." These are the visionaries who used wisdom to endure, the vulnerable who found strength in truth, and the emboldened who executed plans that changed the world.

Three Pillars of the Journey
• Courage in the Well: We look to the story of the Samaritan woman in John 4. She arrived at the well burdened by her past, but after a transformative encounter with Jesus, she became a bold messenger. Her vulnerability didn’t weaken her; it empowered her to move an entire city to action.
• The Wisdom to Execute: Change isn't accidental. It requires a strategic mind and the endurance to see a vision through to the end, regardless of the obstacles.
• The Power of Intersectionality: Our progress is fueled by the overlapping legacies of Black history and women’s leadership. One does not end where the other begins.
Voices Across Time
We see this spirit reflected in the giants of our history and the leaders of our present:
1. From the Past: Harriet Tubman. A woman of profound faith and tactical genius. She didn't just dream of freedom; she mapped it, executed it, and returned time and again to lead others toward the light.
2. From the Now: Dr. Kizzmekia Corbett. A lead scientist behind the COVID-19 vaccine. She represents the "now"—a woman using her brilliant mind to save millions, proving that when women are empowered, the entire world benefits.
Your Call to Action
History is not a spectator sport. As we celebrate these trailblazers, we must ask ourselves: How am I contributing to the narrative?
Don't wait for a designated month to advocate for equity or to share your wisdom.
Today, identify one woman in your sphere—a mentor, a peer, or a rising star—and actively champion her vision. The well of inspiration never runs dry. Let us keep drawing from it, honoring those who paved the way by clearing the path for those behind us.
